History
In the fifteenth century, the strategic importance of Radda in Chianti earned it an important city wall: the Republic of Florence, aware of its border position, equipped with a defensive structure. A wall that was then strengthened, between 1478 following the period of the Aragonese attacks and the conquest and looting of the village and the beginning of the sixteenth century. Radda clearly preserves the ancient urban plant with an elongated elliptical plant, enclosed by a well-defined road circuit that runs around it but the ancient walls and towers have been absorbed by the houses of the village.
