The church of San Salvatore is located in Castellina in Chianti in the province of Siena. Of medieval origin, it was rebuilt and enlarged after the destruction, which took place during the Second World War, in neo-Romanesque style. Inside: an important detached fresco representing the Madonna Enthroned, attributed to Bicci di Lorenzo (1373-1452), a Renaissance wooden statue of San Barnaba, the ancient patron of Castellina.

Inside it: an important detached fresco representing the Madonna enthroned, attributed to Bicci di Lorenzo (1373-1452), a wooden Renaissance-era statue of Saint Barnabas, the ancient patron of Castellina. In the right nave, the gilded wooden reliquary with the relics of Saint Fausto, co-patron of Castellina, donated by the Ugolini family in the 18th century.
In the left nave, an Annunciation from a seventeenth-century Tuscan school.
To the left of the choir, a fifteenth-century Renaissance ciborium; behind the altar a crucifix of Tuscan school of the seventeenth century. In the transept is installed the modern organ with 40 pipes which since 1965 has replaced the older one. The three bells are dated 1797.
The Church also houses, inside a display case, the body of Saint Fausto, martyr, donated in the eighteenth century by the Ugolini family, a wealthy Siena family.
