1. The service
Xplorer is a free app for discovering places, experiences and events in Chianti, Mugello and Impruneta, reading Bussola articles, saving favourites, booking events and contributing photos and missions. By using the app you accept these terms and the privacy policy.
2. Account
You can explore the app without an account; to save favourites, book, upload content and complete missions you need to sign up with email and password or sign in with Google. Please give accurate details, keep your password private and tell us if you think someone else is using your account. You are responsible for what is done with your account.
3. Location
Some features, such as distances, nearby places and missions, use your device's location. It is optional: the app asks for it only when you use it and you can withdraw permission at any time in your browser or phone settings. Without location some features are not available.
4. Information about places and events
We do our best to keep listings, opening hours, prices and dates accurate, but they can change before we notice. Before you go, especially for opening hours and events, we recommend checking with the place or the organiser. If you find a mistake, let us know.
5. Bookings
Booking an event is a request we send to the organiser together with the details you enter. The event is organised and run by the organiser, who is responsible for it, for any changes or cancellations and for the conditions of participation. No payments are made in the app. You can cancel a booking in the app until the event starts.
6. Photos and content you upload
To upload photos you need to join the content programme. You may only upload photos you took yourself or have the right to share, that do not infringe anyone else's rights and in which any recognisable people have agreed to appear. All content is reviewed before it is published and we may reject or remove it at any time.
Your photos remain yours. By uploading them you give us a free, non-exclusive permission to publish them in the app and on Xplorer's channels, including adapting their format, for as long as they stay published. Where possible we show them with your name. You can ask us to remove them at any time by writing to info@xplorer-platform.com.
7. Missions and reputation
Missions ask you to go to a place and answer some questions. The answers, photos and location you send are checked by Guardians, experienced users who review missions. Reputation, experience and rewards only count inside the app and have no monetary value. If a mission turns out to be faked, for example with a false location, we may cancel it and remove the points earned.
8. Rules of conduct
Do not use the app to publish offensive, false, illegal or promotional content, to harass other users, to access other people's data or to collect data automatically, and do not try to get around mission checks. If you break these rules we may remove your content and suspend or close your account.
9. Liability
We provide the app as it is and do our best to keep it working, but there may be interruptions or errors. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for damage caused by out-of-date information, by events run by others or by using the app other than as intended. When you visit places, follow local rules and take care.
10. Closing your account
You can close your account at any time by writing to info@xplorer-platform.com from the address linked to the account. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms.
11. Changes
We may update these terms when the app or the law changes. We will update the date at the top and, for significant changes, tell you in the app. If you keep using the app after the update, you accept the new terms.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by Italian law. This does not affect the rights you have as a consumer under the law.
